When viewed as a complete package, Comcast and Time Warner are virtually identical. It can be truthfully said that neither service offers any item that the other does not match almost exactly. When it comes to the big picture, Comcast and Time Warner are twins, practically joined at the hip.

Time Warner offers cable network service called Roadrunner which connects to a modem in your home through cable wiring. Cable boasts significantly higher Internet speeds than broadband or dial-up service, but it is filtered through a hub of users, which means a cable Internet connection may provide slower service during times of heavy Internet use.

Time Warner Cable requires an 18-month monitoring contract with basic monitoring starting at $39.99. It also requires a minimum of their standard Broadband service which is regularly priced at $39.99. (as opposed to their lower priced “everyday” price of $14.99) They operate their own UL Listed, Five Diamond Certified monitoring service.
