Oct 19, 2023 · Although Nic Cage can do no wrong in my book this derivative film noir promises a lot but fails to deliver. After a good start, the director's attempt to manipulate cinematic time, like Tarantino, breaks down when we the audience are jerked into another story line that is a water-downed homage to the Euro-Crime dramas of the 1960's and 1970's and the Italian Giallo genre of the same time period.

The first half of this was a slog to sit through. When Cage finally takes center stage at the halfway mark, that’s when Kill Chain becomes a lot more interesting. This is definitely more of a noir drama, so don’t expect this to be action-packed based on the poster.
