Kiritimati (pronounced Kee-Rees-Mass in the local Gilbertese language), also known as Christmas Island is the world’s largest coral atoll. It is located in the South Pacific Ocean in the Line Islands and is a part of the country of Kiribati (pronounced Kee-Ree-Bahs).
Third Time at Lagoon View Resort. The resort has expanded since my last visit. There are new rooms and a big dining hall and a new kitchen. Timae and his family are fabulous hosts. The food is simple but plentiful and well prepared. If someone catches tuna there is fresh sashimi every day.

The Villages also provide scuba diving, and their scuba center is the best on the island. The waters in Kiritimati are amazing for diving or even just snorkeling. We saw heaps and heaps of dolphins, manta ray's, sharks and turtles on our scuba diving / snorkeling trip. It's a divers paradise, at least so far.
