A kayak / canoe rack is also available for rent at Lottes Park. Boaters can rent a space to store their canoes or kayaks during the boating season (May 1 to October 31). Boaters using the Olin Park boat launch on Lake Monona will have to use other sites starting Saturday, because of the Shake the Lake fireworks show scheduled to go off on June 27. Madison Parks said on Tuesday that there will be limited access to the boat launch ramp on Friday, and no access beginning Saturday, through Monday, June 29.
The City of Monona has 3 boat launches on Lake Monona at: Lottes Park, Winnequah Trail, and Tonyawatha Trail. Only the site at Lottes Park has a parking lot for vehicles and trailers. A boat launch permit (daily or seasonal) is required.
