The most extreme point of western Myanmar is at a longitudinal coordinate of 92°15' E. This point is part of the Rakhine State of Myanmar along the Bangladesh-Myanmar border.

The country ranks as the 26th most populous country in the world, out of 195 countries in total. The total area of Myanmar comes to approximately 252,237 square miles. Of this area, about 7,718.45 square miles are coastline, and the remaining 244,518.55 square miles are comprised of land. Myanmar is roughly 3.06% water and 96.94% land. The water areas include the shore along the Bay of Bengal. Myanmar ranks as the 136th most densely populated country, so the country is positioned a little over halfway down the list of worldwide population densities.
