Non-Communicable Disease Unit (NCD), Ministry of Health Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine, was established in 1998 under the Deputy Director General (Medical Services I) to plan, implement, monitor and evaluate the national prevention and control programme against emerging epidemic of NCDs in Sri Lanka.
