Oct 17, 2022 · Re: Live Update is missing. Try right clicking on the Norton icon in the system tray. Run Liveupdate should be an option available there. If you still do not see it there, Restart your computer. Be sure you are using the Restart command. Not Shutdown and startup again if you have Windows Fast Startup feature enabled.

Jun 6, 2022 · Re: Live Update still pending after 3 hours. Windows PC's need periodic full system restarts that you cannot get if the device is just going to sleep. Than ensures all pending updates get a chance to be properly processed, or in the case of Norton, it allows pending fixes to be completed.

Sometimes there is a small bug that is fixed and other times there are major security flaws that are patched. Also new features may be introduced or other improvements made in the efficiency of the software.
