Ontario’s population is projected to increase by 43.6 per cent, or almost 6.6 million, over the next 24 years, from an estimated 15.1 million on July 1, 2022 to almost 21.7 million by July 1, 2046.

On July 1, 2021, Canada’s population was estimated at 38,246,108, up 208,904 from July 1, 2020 (+0.5%). This growth is lower than what had been seen in recent years with a growth rate of 1.4% in 2018/2019 and 1.2% in 2019/2020.
