Pretoria Boys High School was established on its present premises in 1909. PBHS is an academic school with the majority of our pupils following a university entrance course. We believe in striving for excellence in all endeavours that we undertake and this carries through to our pupils.
Pretoria Boys High School can trace its origins back over more than 122 years. During the Anglo-Boer War (1899-1902), the city of Pretoria was captured in 1900 by British forces under Lord Roberts and the Transvaal became a British colony.
This philosophy of the school is to pursue high academic standards and to extend pupils academically. Research assignments are set within most subjects. A number of subject departments undertake day excursions and even three day educational tours.
Boarding at Pretoria Boys High School provides a structured and enriching environment. Through a sound academic programme, and involvement in sporting and cultural activities on offer, the pupils develop self-discipline, independence and social skills.
