Parents need to know that Primal is an action thriller starring Nicolas Cage that's set on a ship overrun by an escaped killer and wild animals. Things get pretty violent: Expect guns and shooting, fighting, stabbing, choking, neck-breaking, knives, tranquilizer darts, and a child in peril.

PRIMAL is a middling movie which could best be described as DIE HARD on a ship with a pack of deadly animals and a psycho rather than a gang of robbers. Given that Nicolas Cage churns out endless movies these days and many of them are diabolically bad, this one's at least mildly entertaining.
