The Colosseum (/ ˌ k ɒ l ə ˈ s iː ə m / KOL-ə-SEE-əm; Italian: Colosseo [kolosˈsɛːo]) is an elliptical amphitheatre in the centre of the city of Rome, Italy, just east of the Roman Forum.
