Feb 6, 2019 · The Apostle John (also known as Saint John) was one of Jesus Christ’s 12 disciples, and a prominent leader in the early Christian church. Along with James and Peter, John was one of Jesus’ closest confidants, and he is traditionally considered the author of the Gospel of John.

Jun 25, 2019 · By. Austin Cline. Updated on June 25, 2019. John, the son of Zebedee, was called along with this brother James to be one of Jesus’ twelve apostles who would accompany him on his ministry. John appears in the lists of apostles in the synoptic gospels as well as Acts.
John is the only apostle the gospels record as present when Jesus died, watching with Jesus’ mother and other women as the Son of God cried out to his Father. John heard another word there, to Mary, about him: “Behold your son.”
