So, I was just wondering if you all use satisfactory calculator for every factory you build or just build a factory on your own. What I mean is since everyone will know the recipe, a factory can be build anyhow they want. But do you guys use satisfactory calculator so that you can build efficient factories or just build it the way you want?

As others said, the calculator is probably your best shot. A little trick that worked for me a few times is to use a parachute directly over the crate, look down and spam e. You have a longer reach to interact with buildings and crates while in a parachute/hover-/jetpack.
