Jesus Calls Peter and Andrew. 18 Jesus was walking by the Sea of Galilee. He saw two brothers. They were Simon (his other name was Peter) and Andrew, his brother. They were putting a net into the sea for they were fishermen. 19 Jesus said to them, “Follow Me. I will make you fish for men!” 20 At once they left their nets and followed Him.
Simon, brother of Jesus View source Simon is said to have been the brother (or half-brother) of Jesus, the son of Mary and Clopas. He is only mentioned in passing in the Bible ( Matthew 13:55, Mark 6:3), but he is sometimes identified with Simeon of Jerusalem and Simon the Zealot. Simon's other siblings included James the Just and Joses.

Jan 4, 2022 · Answer. Andrew in the Bible was a disciple of Jesus. Andrew was Simon Peter’s brother, and they were called to follow Jesus at the same time ( Matthew 4:18 ). The Bible names Andrew as one of the twelve apostles ( Matthew 10:2 ). Like Peter, Andrew was a fisherman by trade; they made their living on the Sea of Galilee.
