This page collects community and professional Super Smash Ultimate Tier Lists of the best characters to use in Smash Bros. Ultimate. Over time, pro players and other outlets such as the SSBU Reddit community release their Tier Lists for Smash Ultimate and rankings of all the fighters in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, ranking them based on time spent with the fighters and how viable they are.
The Smash Bros. Ultimate game has little info presented on ranking its own fighters - however there are a few pieces of info given in the tips section that offers definitive confirmations of certain characters abilities - listed below:
In his weekly Famitsu column, Sakurai explained part of his outlook on how fighters are updated and balanced, and why tier lists don't always play a role in this decision:
"player-created estimation of each character's strength...differ pretty greatly from our records." For fighters like King K. Rool, "his victory rate was 51.9%, and in Elite Smash it was 48.9%," so he doesn't really see a need to adjust him.

- Super Smash Bros Ultimate tier list. Here is the Super Smash Bros Ultimate tier list that’s based off EventHubs website. It’s up-to-date as of version 9.0.1 (November 6, 2020) and ranks all DLC characters up to and including Minecraft Steve.
- Pikachu. Pikachu is currently the best character in Smash Bros Ultimate. With the recent patch notes, Pikachu’s side+B just got a lot more reliable for causing damage, but it has always contributed to his phenomenal recovery.
- Joker. Frankly, Joker is disgusting to play against. He just has so many options to cause pain, but we’re certain that the main issue most players will struggle against is Arsene, Joker’s persona.
- Peach/Daisy. Both Peach and Daisy have featured as being top tier picks for quite some time in Smash Bros Ultimate, and it’s easy to see why. They’re fundamentally the same character with the only real difference being how their turnips work, but let’s face it, you’re yeeting the turnips anywhere other than at recovering enemies.
