It was built on the place of the old St. Mark's Church, which was constructed in 1830's. You can reach it on foot from Terazije Square in about 5 minutes (400 meters / 0.25 miles). Church of Saint Mark Belgrade – Church of St. Mark is a Serbian Orthodox church in the Tasmajdan Park, near the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia. The church, dedicated to Holy Apostle and Evangelist Mark, was built between the two world wars, beginning in 1931, and completed in 1940.

Church of St. Mark. Built 1931-1940 and llocated at Tasmajdan, one of the most beautiful city parks. Today’s church was built on the site of the old church from 1835 in Serbian-Byzantine style. In the southern part there is a sarcophagus with the relics of Emperor Dusan, and on the north, the tomb where the remains of Patriarch German are.
