Dec 31, 2014 · Bruce Davison plays Anton Reiker, a German POW assigned to work at a local farm. Reiker escapes, taking refuge in a barn owned by the Bergens, a Jewish family. At first terrified by her "guest," teen-aged Patty Bergen (Kristy McNichol) falls in love with Anton, zealously hiding him from the rest of her family and the authorities.
A bittersweet story of a teenage Jewish girl who falls in love with an escaped Nazi prisoner of war in a small Georgia town during World War II. Esther Rolle won the Emmy as Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited Series or Special for her performance in this film which also was nominated as the Outstanding Drama of the 1978-79 season.
