    If you're playing on an Xbox Series X|S, PC, or PlayStation 5, crossplay should automatically be enabled, and you won't need to do anything to turn it on. All three of these platforms can play with each other and with people on their own platforms with no problem at all. When crossplay is being used, you can see if someone is on another platform in public matches by looking at their chart. You'll also be able to matchmake with them as long as the platform you're both playing on is compatible with one another.

    Unfortunately, crossplay only works for those platforms. If you're playing on an Xbox One or PlayStation 4 you can't enable crossplay and can only play with people on your platform. So Xbox One players can only play with Xbox One people, and PlayStation 4 users can only play with other PlayStation 4 people.
