Thomas Kail (born January 30, 1978) [1] is an American theatre director, known for directing the Off-Broadway and Broadway productions of Lin-Manuel Miranda 's musicals In the Heights [2] and Hamilton, garnering the 2016 Tony Award for Best Direction of a Musical for the latter.
