  1. Jun 8, 2017 · The Tom Wiggin Trail is steep and loose. Mt Whiteface is a 4000-footer in the Sandwich Range that’s usually climbed using the Blueberry Ledge Trail, then over to Mt Passaconaway via the Rollins Trail, and down via Dicey’s Mill Trail.

  2. Great hike, no bugs yet, still a bit of snow and ice in stretches near top but easy enough with spikes. Tom Wiggins trail requires two brook crossings that were a bit challenging as water flow was moderate. Some rock face climbing but not dangerous and only slightly technical. Great views of Lakes Region, Presidential range and Mt Chocorua.

    As with all of the Whites, Mt. Whiteface is a four season experience. However, the ledges on the Blueberry Ledge Trail will require some technical skills when icy, and crampons and snowshoes will be required equipment in season. And, as always, prepare yourself for changing weather.

    Former camps along the ridge of Mt. Whiteface have been removed, and camping at the higher elevations is discouraged. Camp Rich on the Dicey's Mill Trail at 3500 feet on Mt.   3. The trail continues to climb easily for about half a mile before the steep ascent begins. After another half a mile, this time over much rougher and steeper terrain, the trail reaches the top of a ridge, where it flattens out for a short distance and meets Tom Wiggin Trail, on the right.

  4. Tom Wiggin Trail is a 2 km black diamond singletrack trail located near Waterville Valley New Hampshire. This hike primary trail can be used both directions.

  5. Walk to the end of the road where the Dicey's Mill Trail begins. Hike up for 1.6 miles, passing a gate fairly close to the beginning of the trail, until you reach an intersection. Turn right onto the Tom Wiggin Trail and continue for 1.1 miles where you will meet up with the Blueberry Ledge Trail.

  6. You will have to turn left onto the Tom Wiggin trail to meet up with the blueberry ledge trail before the summit of Whiteface. Passaconaway and Whiteface. The highlighted route below will summit both mountains and is 12.1 miles long. I highly recommend summiting both mountains.
