Sep 8, 2019 · Hello, I am new to the forum as a member and I currently have the Xiang Sheng 728A Vacuum Tube Pre-Amplifier. I saw you had this piece before and was wondering if you think the Transcendence 10 is a lot different/ lot better than the 728. My unit has a great deal of tube hum turning up the volume past 9 oclock with no source present.

Aug 25, 2023 · The headphone section on the Van Alstine preamp sounds great. It appears to have a lot more gain than the dedicated Jim Hagerman Labs Tuba headphone amp. It's very clean, quiet, and musical. I can enjoy it for hours on end. I bought the Transcendence 10RB first and foremost because I needed an all tube preamp.
Jan 10, 2019 · I have an transcendence 8. I've been happy with it. It came from ebay a couple or3 yrs. Ago. It doesn't get the use it deserves as it is downstairs. I'm using it with a 5 watt 6v6 amp and k horns. They are a pain to break into. It's like 13 screws holding the top on.
