   I have some questions about the UC Irvine waitlist. Waitlists/Deferrals. I got hit like a truck by college admissions with only one acceptance (safety) and 2 waitlists one of which being UC Irvine. A couple of my friends with lower stats and similar EC’s got in so I’m really hoping I can get admitted through the waitlist.

   Faculty and Staff Features. All classes that are eligible to use the Waitlist System will automatically default to that option. Departmental Schedule of Classes (SOC) Coordinators can access the waitlist option in the Electronic Schedule of Classes (ESOC). The default size of a waitlist is 15 percent of the maximum capacity of the class section.

   • If the waitlist allows letters of continued interest, then yes you can submit them but UCI did not accept LOCI’s. From the UC Website: ** There is nothing that a student should or can do other than opt-in to the waitlist by the stated deadline.    Can I add a waitlist if a course is full?

   • The waitlist option is not offered for all courses. The school or department offering the course must activate the option for it to be available when classes are full. Use the Waitlist Menu to add or drop yourself from a waitlist. Drop yourself from the waitlist if you decide you no longer wish to add a waitlisted class.
