I've always had trouble with them. I constantly get this as well. I've tried verifying at least 10 times and it's just plain broken for the mobile app. I've never gotten it to work, android 13, just says "success" then "something is wrong".
If you use the POF app and don't log out but just swipe it off your phone screen when not using POF it probably will have it stating you're online because you haven't actually logged out. The same probably applies to a browser if you don't actually log out.
