I could get a nice fuzz just using my P-Bass and my fingers - mind you, I was using a miked Fender Bassman 25 as my amp (volume set at 10, of course!).

Jan 29, 2012 · Play the song in the key that you hear. 2nd fret capo C shape is the key of D. Play in the key of D. Ad Nauseum. Learn to recognize what the key is and roll with the punches. Glance at the guitarist's grips at the beginning of the tune, but then look away and play without reference to his/her playing.
Nov 23, 2020 · Interesting conjecture on my part - JP was a short guy, and so this short-scale bass was ideal in couple ways. For being a 30" scale bass, it is long - as long as a Jazz bass. (due to a large hs and the bridge location 1/2 way up the body) so it gives the appearance of a full-scale bass. I think that appealed to him as it made more of a visual ...

Ivy Lab, Drone, Shades, Eprom, Tsuruda, Two Fingers are the ones that come to mind. Also Tipper's Marble Hunting LP is very odd, but in a good way. Esseks, Zingara, Eazybaked, Of The Trees, Trip Drop, TVBOO... Walter wilde and tvboo are my favorite of that type of sound.
Clean up is about clean up and freestyle is about enjoying the music. I do agree that a different step/song would be easier to perform (either try it to shuffle music or try a different step type). But do what you feel is good! Moving to the music however you feel like moving helps you pick up beats and rhythm so you can stay on beat better.
