Feb 9, 2022 · Museu Regional da Terra de Miranda (Regional Museum of the Land of Miranda) The museum, situated in the aforementioned D. João III Square, is in the old town hall building. It has folk arts from the region of the Land of Miranda (the Mirandese-speaking region) as well as its history and traditions.
The historic center of Miranda do Douro is not very big and the best way to get to know it is through a walking tour. Inevitably, you arrive at the only square in town, Largo D. João III. Here you will find the city’s main buildings: the Town Hall, the Solar dos Ordazes – an imposing Abruzzo house – and the Terra de Miranda Museum.
Museu da Terra de Miranda. Situated in the heart of the old town, the Museu da Terra de Miranda museum is housed in the former town hall which was built in the 17th century. Founded in 1982 its mission is to highlight and celebrate the strong cultural identity of Miranda, including its rich history, culture and the Mirandesa language.
