Megan Elizabeth Laura Diana Follows ( / ˈmiːɡən / MEE-gən; born March 14, 1968) [1] is a Canadian-American actress and director. She is known for her role as Anne Shirley in the 1985 Canadian television miniseries Anne of Green Gables and its two sequels.
She was played by Mary Miles Minter in Anne of Green Gables (1919) a silent film directed by William Desmond Taylor and released by Paramount Pictures. [8] [9] The film was heavily panned by Montgomery, who dismissed the Americanization of the story.
