Demon Pond (夜叉ヶ池, Yasha-ga-ike) is a filmed stage production of Demon Pond, a play by Keishi Nagatsuka based on the 1913 play by Izumi Kyōka. [1] The production, directed by Takashi Miike, was filmed before a live audience and released on DVD in Japan on May 25, 2005.

Feb 17, 2023 · DEMON POND 1979. I saw Yashageike in NYC in 1980. The National Kabuki Theater of Japan played a series of performances at the Metropolitan Opera and I saw Tomasaburo Bando live. That was an event of a lifetime with many National Living Treasures performing on stage.
