     What you are seeing is the default behavior of check boxes in HTML forms. The values are only passed if the box(es) are checked. When unchecked, then the form fields are not passed.

     Reference

     As mentioned in the comments, the reason your <cfparam> tags are not catching this condition is because you have not scoped them. This should fix your problem.

     I also noticed in the comments that you said scoping did not fix the problem. That is because you also have a typo in your code (or at least a mis-match). In your <cfparam> tag for the Tuesday variable you set the name as Loc_Tues (notice the 's' on the end). Later in your code you are referring to Loc_Tue (without an 's'). So add the form. scope in your <cfparam> tags and fix that mis-match then you should be good to go.

     mailto: form actions depend on browsers and local email clients playing together nicely. They do this so rarely that mailto:

     form actions are unusable on the WWW.

     Replace it with a server side program that sends the email.

     Use endwhile to make a nice readable separation of php and html. Don't echo blocks of code if you don't have to.

     You can, you just can't have raw HTML in the middle of the PHP like that. End the PHP statement before the HTML then reopen it after like this:

     <?php-$i=1;while ($i<=5){?>-<form name="X" action="thispage.php" method="POST"> <input type="text" name="trekking"> <input type="submit"></form><?php $i=$i+1; }?>

     You can use echo:

     <?php-$i=1;while ($i<=5){- echo ' <form name="X" action="thispage.php" method="POST"> <input type="text" name="trekking"> <input type="submit"> </form>; '; $i=$i+1;}?>

     Or otherwise, open and close PHP tags:

     <?php-$i=1;while ($i<=5){-//closing PHP?> <form name="X" action="thispage.php" method="POST"> <input type="text" name="trekking"> <input type="submit"> </form>;<?php //opening PHP $i=$i+1;}?>

     So long as you use the cascade to your advantage, there is nothing wrong with CSS for forms.

     In fact, I recommend it over using table.

     Just set up some base rules...

     input { padding: 3px; float: right;}

     Then handle the exceptions to your rules...

     input#age { float: none;}
