A Touch of Frost is a British television detective mystery drama series produced by Yorkshire Television (later ITV Studios) for ITV from 6 December 1992 until 5 April 2010, initially based on the Frost novels by R. D. Wingfield.

Fans know Sir David for his part as Del Boy in Only Fools in Horses, but the acclaimed actor went for a totally different role when he signed up to play grumpy Detective Inspector William Edward “Jack” Frost.
When Frost's informant on the estate is later killed, the case becomes a murder investigation, but all of the suspects are black and racial tensions are on the rise.
