Biography. Alexandre Rockwell was born in Boston in 1956. His first film, LENZ, premiered at the Berlin Film Festival in 1982. After his road movie HERO (1983), he directed the legendary SAM FULLER IN SONS (1989).
Breaking into the Film Industry. Rockwell’s journey into filmmaking began in the mid-1970s when he enrolled at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design in Boston. There, he studied film and video production, honing his technical skills and developing his artistic voice.
