Though the concept of directing actors was different in Ghost World, Zwigoff's love for and use of music is not. Zwigoff used a series of great old blues tunes for the film's soundtrack, though the studio originally wanted a marketable soundtrack album full of N'Sync and Britney Spears tunes.
