Make sure to extract your plugin files into one of those folder paths. Click “Re-scan” to add the plugin to your Reaper plugin index.

I've also done what I called faux-Unison, by adding a pitch shift plugin, detuning it a little, and then setting the mix to 50/50 (EDIT: u/Ol_Spooky already suggested this, doh!). Sending one to the left channel and another to the right adds width to it.
