As a general rule, if you were convicted of a felony or certain misdemeanor sex crimes you may apply for a COR either in the California county where you currently live or in the California county where the case was prosecuted. You must meet the legal requirements of demonstrated rehabilitation.
File Your Documents. After completing the Petition for Certificate of Rehabilitation and Pardon, you must file it with the superior court in the county of conviction or in your county of residency.
