Chris Lombardi: Selling Matador and buying it back. In 1993, Matador partnered with Atlantic Records, before Capitol Records purchased a 49 percent stake in 1996. Chris Lombardi and Gerard Cosloy bought that stake back in 1999. Beggars Group purchased 50% of Matador in 2002, with Martin Mills a named co-owner of the label.
