Comics portal. v. t. e. The inker (sometimes credited as the finisher or embellisher) [1] is one of the two line artists in traditional comic book production. After the penciller creates a drawing, the inker interprets this drawing by outlining and embellishing it with a pencil, a pen or a brush.

Frank Giacoia (July 6, 1924 – February 4, 1989) was an American comics artist known primarily as an inker. He sometimes worked under the name Frank Ray, and to a lesser extent Phil Zupa, and the single moniker Espoia, the latter used for collaborations with fellow inker Mike Esposito.

Aug 29, 2022 · Marvel legend and comics artist Tom Palmer passed away earlier this month at the age of 81. In addition to being one of the finest inkers to ever have a place in the comic book industry, he was one of the most prolific inkers in Marvel’s history, with a career that spanned from 1968 to 2020.
He was the regular inker of DC's Superman Adventures for nearly six years, from 1996–2002. His inking work since 2002 has included over fifteen years of inking the Sonic the Hedgehog comic book series for Archie Comics , which he continued until the series cancellation in 2017.
