Fritz Pfeffer. Friedrich "Fritz" Pfeffer (1889—1944) was a German-born Jewish dentist who hid with Anne Frank in Amsterdam during the Holocaust (1941—1945). According to camp records, he died on 20 December 1944 in Neugamme (outside of Hamburg).

It states that Fritz Pfeffer died at nine o'clock in the morning on 20 December 1944 from enterocolitis: an inflammation of the intestinal mucosa. Enterocolitis causes diarrhoea, leads to dysentery without treatment and eventually death.
