Mar 5, 1993 · This is a comedy about a wealthy African-American man who is mistaken for a burglar simply because he is black. The man has purchased a weekend home on an exclusive island enclave, and as he visits it for the first time, the neighbors see him and instantly assume he is a thief.
After surrounding his house with armed men, Chief Tolliver realizes his mistake, and to avoid the bad publicity offers Amos Odell, a thief in his jail, a deal. Amos is to pretend to take Andrew prisoner and hold him for ransom, but let him go and escape.
