Now streaming on: Powered by JustWatch. Here is a movie that is supposed to be about a newspaperman--a columnist for the Chicago Sun-Times, in fact--who is like no newspaperman I know, but exactly like every newspaperman would like to be. In my opinion, that makes it accurate.
Predictable and clichéd as it may be, Continental Divide isn't a bad film. The performances are sincere, the mood upbeat, and the characters easy enough to root for. The story deals with a streetwise Chicago reporter having to get out of town for a while after incurring the wrath of a corrupt local politician.

Sep 24, 2021 · Re-watching the film is a bittersweet experience, as we delight in Belushi’s quick-witted comments and his slapstick pratfalls as well as his nimble moves, as when Souchak hangs gracefully from the back of a train and doffs his hat while saying goodbye but not farewell to the love of his life.
