The idea of death fetishism by means of car crashing I just don't get, and I found the performances (especially Spader who I normally love, and Unger) to be on the comatose side. Didn't feel as transgressive as his others either, or as darkly funny, IDK.

  3. Honestly, I love the book, but hated the movie. I really do think it's unfilmable. Too cerebral a concept. The film felt too literal. It simply didn't work for me. Strangely, I did enjoy The Atrocity Exhibition movie. It's not great, but I liked it. Speaking of unfilmable...somehow, that one worked for me. 2.

  4. Hey! I watched Crash a while ago and I’ve really been craving similar films recently. Weird sexualities, self destructive tendencies, complex relationships.

  5. Crash is legitimately weirder. The Fly is basically his most Hollywood film and even Videodrome has spiffy effects. Elasti-Girl and Ultron getting horny over twisted metal is more disturbing because it’s less fantastical. Human bugs and reality warping cable channels aren’t real. Those people could be.
