"Everything Is Cool" is the second episode of the Apple TV+ limited series, Defending Jacob.
Andy and Laurie Barber confront Jacob about the knife. Jacob brushes it off as no big deal and claims he hid it as he thought they would freak out regardless. After Jacob leaves for school, Andy and Laurie decide what to do. Andy ultimately discards the knife as the sanitation trucks arrive.
Leonard Patz is brought in for questioning. Despite his history, Pam and detective Peterson don't feel he's guilty. Andy pushes them to continue questioning but Joanna Klein arrives on behalf of Ms. Cronin, who was held up in court.
The city, including students from Archer Middle School investigate Cold Spring Park for the murder weapon. During which, Dan Rifkin confronts Andy and tells him he's being taken off the case. Andy calls Lynn Canavan, who tells him to come down to the courthouse. Andy is surprised when he is escorted in. Meanwhile, as Jacob walks home he discovers he's already being investigated and runs off. Andy learns they found his son's fingerprints on Ben. He briefly bursts into a rage learning his son is investigated. Andy is put on paid leave effective immediately. Andy hurries home before they can investigate it. Before he enters, Pam arrives with a search warrant.
The Barber home is turned inside out as the police look for evidence. Andy reveals to Laurie he already discarded the knife. Meanwhile, a knife is found during the search at the park. Jacob is eventually found by a police officer at Newton Elementary School. He explains he didn't murder Ben and explains his prints were from when he found him and tried to help him up but ran off when he realized he was dead. Jacob is taken down to the police station. Jaco and Laurie arrive. They let him know everything will be fine and will take him home after his arraignment in the morning, no matter how much the bail is. They continue to console Jacob and embrace him before he's taken to his cell for the night.
