The lossless PCM mono presentation is what it is, but it’s more than serviceable enough. There are no major problems, dialogue is clear, music sounds fine, and it doesn’t sound to have been filtered excessively (at least), so there is some modest oomphto it.
The film gets a modest little special edition after Universal’s featureless DVD from almost 2 decades ago. No Promiscuous Shooting In Bottleneck. bkoganbing 21 August 2006. 1939 that celebrated high point of the Hollywood studio system turned out to be the break out year for James Stewart. His career kicked into high gear with Destry Ridges Again and Mr. Smith Goes to Washington.
