Edward Albert Heimberger (April 22, 1906 – May 26, 2005) was an American actor and humanitarian. He was twice nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor; the first nomination came in 1954 for his performance in Roman Holiday, and the second in 1973 for The Heartbreak Kid. [1]

May 23, 2005 · Actor Eddie Albert, who delivered memorable performances in everything from lightest comedy to darkest drama, died on May 26 at his home in Pacific Palisades. Albert, who in recent years he had been battling Alzheimer’s disease, succumbed to complications from pneumonia. He was 99 years old.
