Following the final Black Flag tour and eventual break up in mid-1986, Gone issued two albums on Ginn's SST label. However, Ginn decided to end Gone that same year as well, and Weiss and Cain became founding members of the Rollins Band in 1987. After a nearly eight year hiatus, Ginn later revived Gone with a new rhythm section.
