Aspiring composer Kenneth Harvey (Don Ameche) moves to Greenwich Village in New York City, where he meets Danny O'Hara (William Bendix), a club owner putting together a musical show. Sizing up Kenneth as an easy mark, Danny considers taking advantage of him but is prevented by his singing star, Bonnie Watson (Vivian Blaine), who likes Kenneth.
