1954 Nominee NYFCC Award. Best Actress. The Glenn Miller Story. Tied with Judy Garland for A Star Is Born (1954), Audrey Hepburn for Sabrina (1954) and Eva Marie Saint for On the Waterfront (1954).

In 1951 she won the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress for her performance in 'Too Young to Kiss'. June Allyson was born Eleanor Geisman in the Bronx, New York City on October 7, 1917 and brought up in near poverty by her mother after her father, who was an alcoholic, abandoned the family when she was 6 months old.
