    The King Lear Prizes is a national creative arts competition for older people run by King Lear Arts. The competition was originally founded to help older people stuck at home because of Coronavirus.     We were set up to help older people access arts activities during lockdown, not to make a profit! Entry fees for the King Lear Prizescover the cost of running the competition. King Lear Arts is registered charity number 1194586 with the Charity Commission for England and Wales.

    As a new ‘start-up’ arts organisation, we couldn’t have put on the King Lear Prizeswithout the help of a huge number of people (our team of judges, our financial backers and our wider team of supporters). Thank you all for your help!
