James Marshall Thompson [1] (November 27, 1925 [2] – May 18, 1992) was an American film and television actor. Early years. Thompson was born in Peoria, Illinois. [3] [2] He and his parents, Dr. Laurence B. Thompson and Pauline (née Marshall), [2] moved to California when he was a year old.

As hard a worker as you could find in Hollywood’s party-time town, Thompson began his career making 14 films in 2-1/2 years, although he now is best remembered for television roles. He was a favorite of the Hollywood press during the 1940s and 1950s and received excellent reviews for his films.
