History of Monza. The town of Monza. The area occupied by today's Monza was inhabited since the Iron Age. In Roman times, Monza (then known as Modicia) became the area’s most important settlement, even though it still depended on the nearby Mediolanum (Milan).

Constructed in just 110 days in 1922, the Autodromo Nazionale Monza was the world’s third purpose-built race track, coming after Brooklands in the UK and Indianapolis in the US. Like those two tracks, the original circuit featured a daunting series of banked curves, as well as much of the ‘outfield’ section that’s still in use today.
The Museum and Treasure of the Cathedral of Monza houses priceless heritage of relics and works of art, a unique collection in the world for its rarity and preciousness of the materials and handycraft. This collection allows the visitors to follow the events on time of the Cathedral from its founding to the present day.
