Jake (Eric Stoltz) moves to New York City when he hears that producer Carl Fisher (Tony Curtis) is staging a play he's written. Carl hires starlet Dana Coles (Kathleen Turner) for the lead, but Jake is concerned when she tries to oust his actor friend Chris (Ralph Macchio) from the show.
