A successful and hardworking doctor, Richard Talbot (Kent Smith) strays from his marriage when he meets Nora Prentiss (Ann Sheridan), a beautiful nightclub performer. While Richard doesn't want to end his affair with Nora, he also can't face divorcing his wife (Rosemary DeCamp) and struggles to resolve his inner conflict.
